It’s difficult to explain what is happening at Discover Life Church. In the last four weeks we have seen an increase of hunger for God’s tangible presence as well as a holy curiosity for His Word. We have increased in every area of the ministry. And I’m being told that for that to happen during the summer, it’s definitely a God thing. AWESOME!
I’ve always been a student of God seasons. It fascinates me how God His establishes seasons of pruning, training, growth and multiplication in our lives. One of my constant prayers is to have the wisdom of the Sons of Issachar; they recognized the seasons they were in and made good decision according to them (1 Chronicles 12:32). This behavior I like to call kingdom intentionality.
Intentionality is our responsibility as believers. Jesus did His part, now it’s our turn. It’s our turn to discern our seasons and respond accordingly. To the New Testament believer, to sin is to “miss the mark.” Missing the mark is the sin of omission. It’s NOT doing what we’re supposed to do. It’s missing God moments and seasons. It’s allowing external issues, distractions and circumstances to leverage our focus, therefore, “missing God.”
Intentionality is the middle ground between our circumstances and God’s involvement. Regardless of our circumstances, intentionality is a constant of act of obedience. On the other hand, complacency is the enemy of intentionality and its goal is to cause us to miss God seasons.
Discover Life Church; let’s engage in intentionality! Put your seatbelt on. God is up to something! Let’s dive in!
