It appears that anything and everything that is of any value in the Kingdom of God has to be sought after. God has a technique of NOT placing anything on our laps. There has to be a pursuit. That is why He told us to ask, seek and knock after the keys of the Kingdom. The treasures of His Kingdom must be searched out and pursued. I’m not sure why this is other than He knows that we will appreciate the things we seek and pursue after than the things we attain with ease.
Yesterday, We had Bishop Isaac Wawire from Kenya speak at our church. Although I was not there, due to my injured back, I was told he preached a sermon with strong prophetic implications to our church as a whole. What we need to understand here is this…we are people who are desperately looking for answers and we are at a time in our church where some keen direction would be greatly appreciated. But, as always, what we need is usually in His Word. It would greatly behoove us to retrieve what was communicated and begin to break it down. The Lord was speaking through a man, as He usually does. And it’s up to us to search out that truth and pull out the provision that accompanies it.
I woke up this morning thinking of Isaiah 45:3, “I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.” And also with Luke 11:9 – “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Let us not become weary and somnolent at searching and seeking out the great things He has already provided for us. Rejoice, for when we lay hold of them, great purpose will be achieved!
