Happy Birthday Zion!

I find it very difficult putting into words as to how proud I am of all my kiddos!  I’m very thankful to God for all of them.  They love the Lord with all their heart as well as possessing a sense of destiny.

Yesterday was Zion’s birthday.  Zion is my 3rd oldest child and 2nd of three boys.  Since we have four children in total (even number), Zion qualifies as the closest to being a “middle child.”  I must admit, there are NO middle child symptoms in him at all!

As I usually do on my children’s birthdays, I like to blog about them and share publicly what I’ve noticed about them in the past year.

Here are my observations about Zion…

  • This past year Zion has grown up in every area, physically (wow) mentally and spiritually.  I’m so proud.
  • Zion doesn’t blend in at all.  He has a way of always being in the middle of everything!  A true leader in the making!
  • Zion’s dance has escalated to greater levels.  I got a chance to peek into one of his practices and was blown away!
  • Zion has developed a work ethic that continues to morph with his physical growth.  His work ethic is seasoned with passion.   It’s hard to teach that – this can only be caught not taught!   Zion, you are catching it!
  • Regardless as to how rigorous his dance schedule is (it’s more rigorous than baseball, football or basketball players his age) he always fights to stay connected to his youth group and discipleship classes.  I love that!
  • I love how he and His brothers are fully committed to the work of our church.  I love how he is part of the media team and are there for set-up even before many adults arrive.   I love that as well!
  • I was super proud when he auditioned and was accepted for a dance role in PeeWee Salinas’s new video.  They filmed it in Universal Studios.  It comes out at the end of the month.

Zion, I love you very much!  I know that God will continue to use you in many ways!  Work hard, pray hard, believe hard!  God will take care of the rest!  And always know that your Dad believes in you and will do whatever he has to do to get you to the place where God’s has destined you to be!

Below is a sneak preview of Zion dancing in PeeWee’s new hit single,  “Wanna Be Yours.”  He’s the one on the right wearing a red shirt and black & white ball cap. If you can’t view the video, just click on the link(s) – I really can’t figure out how this video upload thing works :-/
