What Fuels Your Life?

by | Apr 26, 2016 | Uncategorized | 5 comments

We really do become the very thing we consume. In the same manner that “we are what we eat,” we become the very thing that we watch, read, hear and do. We’ll always take on the characteristics of all things we expend.   The fuel of your life determines the placement, condition and performance of your life. Therefore, by understanding this principle, we can keep in check our direction in God’s plan and purpose for our lives.

After Jesus took an unpopular detour through Samaria and revolutionized the life of the woman at the well, His disciples, who went to buy food, urged him to eat something. And Jesus’ response was exceptional. He said, “ I have food to eat that no one knows about. My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work.”

I believe Jesus gave us a hint regarding our life’s diet. When we learn to manage, direct and administer the things we watch, read, listen to and do, it’ll appropriately focus, direct and fuel God’s purpose and will for our lives. What fueled Jesus was to do the will of the Father. And everything else that He allowed in His life’s diet, was used as fuel to engage that will. To an extent, He became the very thing he ate (consumed, watched, read, listened to, etc.)

What’s your life’s diet? What fuel’s your life? What do you spend time, watching, reading, listening and doing? When you identify your fuel, you’ll recognize the current condition of God’s purpose for your life.
